Before moving into theatrical production, I spent many years working in the publishing industry, specializing in layout, typography, and print production. That experience continues to inform my work in theatre, particularly when creating graphic props and printed elements used on stage.
Many props include visual materials such as posters, product labels, packaging, newspapers, or handbills. These pieces must not only look convincing to an audience but also match the visual style and historical context of the production. Drawing on my background in design and publishing, I create graphics that support the visual world of a show while remaining practical for stage use.
In addition to digital design, I often produce the finished printed objects themselves—selecting appropriate paper, printing methods, and aging techniques so that the final prop feels authentic in the performer’s hands and believable under stage lighting.
My work in this area includes:
• advertising posters and handbills
• product labels and packaging
• period newspapers and printed documents
• signage and environmental graphics
• letters, maps, and printed ephemera
• custom designs created specifically for stage productions
These elements help establish the world of a production and add visual detail that supports the storytelling on stage.
